How prices follow provider costs
Your provider’s costs change over time. The update mode on your pricing rule (Pricing → Global rule) decides what happens to the price your customers pay when that happens. Every mode keeps your minimum margin and rounding.
| Mode | When a cost changes |
|---|---|
| Fixed | Your price stays as it is. You change it yourself. |
| Hybrid | A change up to the threshold (default 10%), up or down, applies at once. A bigger one waits for your approval under Prices pending approval, and the service is hidden from customers until you decide. |
| Automatic | The new price applies 24 hours after the cost change. You’re told when it will take effect, and you can see it under Scheduled price changes. If the cost changes again before then, only the newest price counts. |
| Smart automatic | A rise above the threshold is treated as a sudden spike: it waits for your approval and the service is hidden, as in hybrid mode. A smaller rise applies, but a service’s price changes at most once a day: a change inside that day is scheduled for when it ends. A drop reaches customers gradually: each day the price moves halfway to the new one, and once it’s within 1% it goes all the way. |
A new service gets its first price straight away, whatever the mode.
Seeing what’s coming
Section titled “Seeing what’s coming”Pricing → Scheduled price changes lists every price waiting to take effect, with the current price, the new one and when it applies. For a gradual drop, it also shows the price the steps are heading for. If you switch the rule to fixed or hybrid, prices that were waiting are dropped.
