Crypto top-ups
With a crypto gateway added under Payments (NOWPayments, Cryptomus, Heleket or CoinPayments), a customer can top up by paying an invoice on the gateway’s own page. You use your own gateway account and keys; the money goes to that account.
How a payment is confirmed
Section titled “How a payment is confirmed”When the customer pays, the gateway notifies your store, and the top-up is credited to the customer’s balance. Each notification is checked against your gateway secret and credited once, however many times the gateway repeats it.
Only a payment the gateway calls complete is credited, and only for the amount of the invoice. A payment the gateway reports as short or failed isn’t credited.
When a notification doesn’t arrive
Section titled “When a notification doesn’t arrive”Notifications sometimes get lost. For Cryptomus, Heleket and CoinPayments, the store also asks the gateway itself about every top-up that’s still waiting:
- It first asks 10 minutes after the invoice was created, so the gateway’s own notification has time to arrive.
- If the gateway says the invoice is paid, the top-up is credited, just as if the notification had come. If the notification turns up later as well, nothing is credited twice.
- While the invoice is still open, the store asks again, less often as the invoice gets older (at most every 6 hours), for up to 7 days.
- Once the gateway says the invoice was cancelled or ran out of time unpaid, the store stops asking.
NOWPayments can’t be asked this way. If a customer says they paid with NOWPayments and the top-up is still waiting, check the payment in your NOWPayments dashboard, then approve the top-up. For its first day it’s under Payments → Top-up requests; after that it’s under Payments → Expired crypto top-ups.
Top-ups that show as expired
Section titled “Top-ups that show as expired”A crypto top-up still waiting after a day shows as expired, so it doesn’t sit in the customer’s list forever. Expired isn’t final. A payment the gateway confirms later, by notification or when the store asks, is still credited.
Payments → Expired crypto top-ups lists the ones from the last 30 days. Most were simply never paid. If you’ve confirmed a payment in your gateway’s own dashboard, approve it there and the customer’s balance is credited. An expired top-up can’t be rejected, so a late confirmation from the gateway can still credit it.
